Common leaks from 87 onwards AT?
Hi Guys
I was interested to read recently on another thread, common leaks with the AT in early 928s which got me onto wondering whether these were the same for the late AT (S4 onwards).
Greg Brown did a great job listing potential issues along with parts and I wondered whether the issues were consistent with the later AT?
Selfishly I do have a small leak somewhere on my AT that I am looking to fix so this would be very good information to have.

The only one I consistently have problems with is the sump gasket- the nuts seem to loosen off and I usually end up pinching them up a tad during my annual inspection/maintenance currently due any time. I see a small amount of oil weepage around the joint and on the under tray but there are no drops of oil under the car.
The power steering system also leaked a bit of oil around the reservoir connections but those disappeared with new hoses.
I also experience issues with the a/c compressor leaking a bit of gas and some oil with it despite having the compressor rebuilt with new body seals and a new lip seal..

this is the thread I was talking about.
I am most interested in what can be serviced with the transmission in the car as I have no plans to remove it anytime soon, maybe 2020 or 21 if everything holds up ok

An S4 transmission is essentially the same as the '85/'86, which I wrote that list for, the only difference being the kickdown seal.
Disregarding gear ratio changes:
There were some minor internal modifications in the S4 transmission and the S4 also starts in 2nd gear, whereas the '85/'86 transmissions start in 1st gear.
1989 versions had some good updates (B2) and the GTS models had another good update for B1 piston (not shown in PET.)
