'83 Euro S. Trans needs to be shifted with finesse to avoid grinding. What would be required to swap this rebuilt trans into my car? Any value in my existing transmission as a rebuildable core? Thanks for your thoughts. Rod

I have the torque tube and cross member, however to make sure everyone is aware, the torque tube is BLUE and I rebuilt it. Greg never touched the torque tube. although it IS a tube with a shaft going through it, which is pretty simple.

Any discounts if I wanted the "special" coatings on the transmission to be taken off?!

So, would it fit a Jubilee?

It will fit any early 77, 78 cars I am sure. Because the TT, k member and trans sat in slightly different positions and the battery box hung off the rear plate.

I would have no idea how to get the color off.

To confirm, the box is 28/03 and serial number 118 1911

A pic from 928gt.com shows that this makes it a 78:

I have been thinking about what I need to do with the other parts I have and I can also offer some more parts to go with this for a small amount of additional cost if someone needed.

I am including pictures because when I say (The TT is blue) I really mean it. And I have actually modified the TT now that I took it out of storage. I have modified the front ball cup area to use a Heimjoint. This may not usable for some people, but the TT was only being thrown in anyway. I have the K member powdercoated as well, and there are actually some NEW CV joints with Krytox CV grease in them. The boots may not be as perfect as they have been sitting for... 13 years, but they are NEW CVs. I also have new bearings in the (Blue) uprights. lol.

So in review:
  • $3500 for:
  • 28/03 with LSD transmission that Greg rebuilt (full explanation above)
  • Rebuilt TT included (though it is BLUE, and I have modified the front ball cup (shown in pic).
  • I will include the (blue) k member as well. This is a low cost item except that you need it to put the above into a later car.
If you also wanted some more rebuilt parts for added cost:
  • Rebuilt lower arms (BLUE, lol) but they do have kinks like many lower arms.
  • Rebuilt uprights (Blue) with early stub shafts - new bearings.

So you can still just have the trans for 3500. Easier and cheaper to ship. But if you need the other stuff, I wanted to clearly identify:

1) How blue this actually is
2) It's really blue
3) Its all rebuilt and unused.

The transmission itself is sold pending shipping working.

I appreciate the emails. I may sell some of the other stuff but none of it is worth nearly as much as this trans.

And its its all blue.

If you guys think Porsche approved lubricants are expensive, you really need to look at the price of Krytox.

The last time I had to buy a tiny tub, I had to take out a second mortgage on the house....

it it was ridiculous. And a long time ago, so I hope it lasts for ever, otherwise I have to redo them I guess.
