Mercury Racing LS7 Crate Motor
I am not necessarily a fan of anything other that the a Porsche motor in my car, but I know plenty of you folk like the LS swap. I cam across this LS based crate engine that seems interesting:

God, those dyno numbers are tempting aren’t they. :) |
That’s one h3LL of a motor. |
That SB466 is some engine and redlines @ 8,000rpm ! For less than half of that $ 32,999 price tag, you can own the latest and greatest GM offers with IIRC a 2 year GM warranty..the LT4 S/C 640hp/630tq shipped to your door for $ 13,287 and this includes the engine controller and acc drive kits.

Not sure how it will fit, but here's another option, based on a Voodoo, but with a cross plane crank.

Another awesome engine^^but nobody I know of has done conversion in a 928. It's the only domestic engine I would stick into the 928 if I had to outside of a LT5 ;) |
This forum has obviously gone to hell.

A few days ago Ford debuted a new big-block pushrod/OHV engine for their trucks.
7.3L gasser V8...bet it'll fit a 928 too. |
This is an alternative engine but will it fit into the 928? Do listen to the dyno sound at the end of the video.

Coyote engines have been swapped into 944s so I don't see why a variant of that wouldn't fit in the 928.

I was wondering the other day if a Coyote motor with some custom made valve covers with Porsche in factory looking style on them and a early spider intake might slip past a smog inspection.

Does there exist, in current or recent times a GM DOHC V8 (other than The Cadillac Deathstar if that’s still in use) used in production? Or is this LS-7-based motor ‘engineered’ by Marine Racing to exchange pushrods for cam followers? LS-7 is a pushrod motor no? |
Coyote Aluminator swap in an '89 has been done already.
