We had a fantastic time, as always with this group of people. Always wonderful to meet the people and see the long time friends from all over the country. Absolutely impressive getting this sort of turn out on a quickly (to me) put together event. PEC people were awesome to meet and were very nice all the way around. I've ridden in many of the newer 911's and had no clue they were as capable as they are, that drive event was the most fun I've had behind the wheel in a car...........man those guys and girls can drive. I could have done that all day long and never been bored.

Huge thanks to those that put this together and am very glad to have made the trip. The venues were perfect, the planning was top notch and honestly can't think of any way it could have been done better. Just perfect. We made it home just after 9pm and I think the only mishap for anyone I know, besides Pete's clutch and Alex's alternator was me mis-judging some lane changes on 635 here and nailing the express way lane boulders and bending my recently done wheels.

Back to the wheel guys again.

Wow, what a great looking event, so many familiar faces! Really bummed I couldn't be there due to helping with my daughter Serena's baby shower. Hopefully this will become a yearly event? - Thanks to all involved for posting nice Pics!

ZERO chance that this will become a yearly event according to Scott Martin. Advertised as a one-off and truly a one off.. He did speak of the possibility holding an event in the area at Stone Mountain as a possibility.

Stay tuned...

Yep, one of the reasons it had the turnout it did was because #1 was on display (which it won't be next year) and it was a 1 and done opportunity that no one wanted to miss.

Scheduling a second event this close to the 1st weekend in June where Sharks in the Mountains occurs in NC will detract from both, as most people won't be able to make both, which will reduce attendance at both of them.

All,
thank you for an incredible event. I had a great time & enjoyed discussing our 928's with all of you. Thanks Scott & team for all of your work bringing this event to fruition. Thanks to Andrew for #1 & Presentation. Thanks to POC, 928 GTR & to PEC for sharing the campus. Hans for the T-shorts, and to everyone who assisted in any way.

Wish i'd put more faces with the avatars.
Got home fast & safe, Thanks Sean, Roger & Jim for our speedy caravan. how many 33 year old cars can transport you at an average of 79.33 mph @ 22mpg, w/ AC maxed in comfort?
Thanks Looking forward to the next event!
David

100% Agree and from my perspective, this was UNLIKE any event in this community, PERIOD! I do think the turnout could have been bigger BUT not much BETTER!

My 16 year old who has ALOT of SITMs under his belt told me how it seemed like they could never do this exact event again and how special he thought it was.

It would be unfair to compare this event to ANY of the other events because it was different in SO many ways. I'll echo the sentiment that every aspect of the event was PERFECT....
  • Showing off the 55ish cars on the PEC Top Deck
  • Touring the Heritage Museum and seeing #1
  • Seeing my son enjoy the heck out of the simulators
  • Hearing from Ray Schaffer of Porsche Classic (Formerly the GM of Brumos in Jacksonville)
  • Getting Andrew's Presentation on #1, Chris being acknowledged as a "finder" of #1 and all getting to put our hands on the car
  • Navigating the 7 lanes of i-85/i-75 with a bunch of lunatic videographers freaking out the locals
  • Landing at an awesome shop run by a legendary Porsche Tech by the name of Howard Wright (European Classics) -- 40 years + as a tech -- his story is cool -> http://www.europeanclassicsatl.com/about/about.html
  • Returning for Fast Laps on the PEC track with drivers that spanked the cars on the track with us along for the ride (best money I've spent!)
  • Finishing with a nice casual banquet with all of the 928 Family in attendance to time spent in the Hotel bar(s) (and that was just Saturday!!!!).

Finally, I know lots of people had to leave but the Sunday Farewell at Autohaus Social with the Cider Company and Food Truck was equally awesome and just so impressive as to where car culture is going.

There was some MAD skill in putting on this event and if you were ever bored, you probably don't have a pulse.

If folks missed this, not rubbing salt in the wound, but it should sting. So many other little details from the shirts Hans made up to the Gold Coins minted by the 928OC for the event. I'm glad my son and I didn't miss it!

I'll add some of my pics. One of my goals with Pasha (#338) is to document as much of her known history as possible. This event allowed me to finally meet @Mrmerlin and @Rob M Budd as they both previously had a hand in her rise back to former glory. I was also able to reunite with my old friend from my time in Texas, @ROG100 . Roger has supplied many parts to this car over the years. Along with being able to chat with these gentlemen, they were all kind enough to take pictures with her and I will add them to her logbook for historical documentation. I feel a bit ashamed because most of my pics are only of my car. That wasn't my intention but I was so busy meeting new people and having great conversations with them that I only had a few brief moments to take pictures of her and not much else. Regardless of that and as already echoed here, this event was amazing and I felt incredibly fortunate to be able to attend it from my nearby home. Thanks to all who I met and for the memories. @drooman , @RSMartin , @ezrajones and @928 GT R : you four were class acts as well and I was glad to chat with you.

Mr. Budd, Pasha and myself

Rod, sitting in Pasha, is the new owner of Classic 9 and the actual person who stitched this interior together when they refurbished it. I learned that he has been Rob's protege for years. Classic 9 will be in good hands.

Roger in disbelief that I bought a 928 without a Rogerbox.

Stan smiling at the thought of billing me by the minute for every question I have about Pasha.

Dat ***

Roger's beautiful and rare SE.

Gorgeous restoration work by European Classics in Doraville, GA.

Rob drawing a crowd as usual.

A replica Speedster in Stone Grey that made an appearance at Autohaus Social.

Pasha, the Speedster, and the MEG at Autohaus Social.

I hate to say it but the overwhelming feedback I got from many who attended was that they made the long trek because it was at PEC.
This holds true for my group. Don't think I'll be making a 12.5 hr trek again if it's not at the same venue

I'm with you on that. My drive time was 15.5 hours down and 14.5 back for a total of 30 hours behind the wheel.

The One Off nature of this event made it worth the effort and expense. Scott made it clear that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm really happy we all made the commitment to attend.

We will continue to have a bunch of events to attend like SITM, Third Coast, Frenzy, the Pittsburg Grand Prix, Sharks in Hell and others... Lets continue to make the most of our annual get togethers!

Cheers!

Somewhere in time - - - 928 father Tony Lapine is smiling...

Default Yes this was a once in a lifetime event not an annual event

We built this event around #1. We as a community came together and supported this event. We had 1 great time,
This event cannot be duplicated nor will I try too. I am not saying I will not help set up another event at another venue but never try to duplicate it. Just wouldn't be the same because I personally feel that the amount of support in this short time span just doesn't happen.
SO, for the people that weren't able to hear the dinner speach.

Personally I would like to thank,
Our vendors for helping spread the word. There are way to many forms of social media. Making it extremely hard to reach the entire community. Without these vendor's customer list this event might not have been the same.
PEC for being a very curtious and gracious host. Having attended more than my share of events at PEC Atlanta
I know they treated us right. Ray , I can't say enough just thank you.
AutohausSocial for their support these guys not only set up a spot on media campaign but paid 100% of the cost for the media coverage. They covered this when NO one else would.
928 owners club stepped up and sponsored this event to a Tee. This club is honestly trying to be there for us.

OUR 928 Community without YOU and your commitment
This could have never happened !!!!

Oh yeah, the guy with the little white car. Thanks Andrew.

Arrrg major bummer Sean, but this is one of those times to remind yourself that this little mistake could have resulted in a MUCH worse outcome!

This event stands out as the best 928 gathering I have ever been to. Not just to renew old friendships, but to meet new owners and customers that I have never had the pleasure to meet before. I hope I met everyone but I am pretty sure I didn't. I had to stay close to the Meg to be able to answer all those with questions, so it kept me on a short leash.

Sean, sorry for your curb damage on the way home (above). We had a trailer tire fail sometime during the night, did't discover it until the sun came up and we stopped for fuel.
