I'm trying to make it also. I am mid-preparation for Bonneville Speed Week at this time, and the car is about half road-racer and about half land-speed racer right now. If I can get the new differential installed in time, and the front clip, and a couple of other things, then yes - I am planning to attend with it. I know you guys would love the hear it! I'm not registering just yet because of the uncertainty, but will as certain as I can firm it up.

BTW it is a 1978 also, Serial #2078

Third place at Pikes Peak in the Open Division, 2007 and 2009
Worlds fastest 928 at Bonneville Salt Flats in 2011 at 216.63537 MPH < I'm going back to improve that

Bonneville 2011 216.63537 MPG

That's incredible gas mileage! Just kidding...

Can't wait to see that monster (and hear it's 1,200 Hp firestorm of a motor!)

This is shaping up to be a great event!

We can finally meet and share a frosty one

That would be major if 928 Motorsports could be there too with the car that's completed in so many variants if the sport. Wow.

Anybody bringing one of the western state open road racers?

This could become the most epic 928 event ever held.

Default Select Parking for 928's @ Rendezvous 928

I'm not calling it VIP because there's only 1 #1 going to be there. However we will be selecting a small group of special cars to be on "display" on the top deck. We want to make these the people's choice. Not concourse cars but the iconic example cars from our community.
The really meaningful cars of our community.
1 spot will be reserved for the car that DRIVES the furthest.
Not trailering 90% then costing in, honor system.
But I would take a start pic and fuel pics along the way just to squash the na Sayers.

Guess all this should be another thread . Just to keep from mucking up this one. Unless admin has a preferred option.

It is only 963 miles from my home to PCNA. So, that is not going to cut it and I'm out of he "driven the furthest" contest before it begins.

XX8 may well be the first wide body 928 GT (GTS Style), but like #1, it is arriving by trailer and going home by trailer (protective custody).

At 145,000 miles it has earned its patina and will be wearing it like a casual shirt.

Just got the GT all caught up on maintenance thanks to Dave Chamberland (worf928), and will be having a 500+ mile shake down trip to Camp 928 beginning of June . Below is my route to Atlanta and looking forward to the event.

Here is my spoke of the wheel...

All roads lead to PCNA!

Watch for Big Blue dragging a 30 ft trailer and try to keep up!

Cheers!
