My guess is the ignition amps at the front of the car. My 89 had a similar issue where it would have trouble starting and would stall.

Although half of the cylinders would cut out as well which was a giveaway.

Have you checked the coil ground wires as well? They can corrode and cause intermittent issues like this. They're commonly overlooked.

Easy enough to check/replace if the computer swap doesn't solve it, the wires and plugs look good but the amps are original I think.

I put new coils in a couple months ago, the + and - wires were pliable and connectors looked good and clean but again, easy enough to double check. Thank you

Car started right up again this morning (swapped computers last night) and it's been idling for 30mins now. Gonna shut it down for now and go for a drive around the neighborhood around noon.

Blake while it's been idling I've been wiggling the wires around the coils and amps and no disruptions that I can detect for now

If the two different computers solve the problem, swap back in the other computers, one at a time, and see if you can get the problem to re-appear. Then swap in the one good computer to see if the problem goes away.

This needs to be done, to confirm what the actual problem is.

Disconnecting and reconnecting computers could "mask" electrical connection issues. We retained the original '86 wiring loom out to the engine and swapped the connectors into later ('87 on) computer connectors. We then built a separate loom to add in the additional wires required (knock sensors, hall sensor, etc.) Several of those connections could make the engine not run.

When I plug in the original LH the car started and died within a few seconds.

When I plug in the swapped LH with the original EZK, the car seems to run fine.

Will verify with a test drive in an hour or so

Thanks Stan, your tips are always welcomed and they helped me rule out a bunch of stuff this time.

Test drive went well, no stalling so far with the LH swapped
