Lifter Noise after car sitting

I have a tapping noise, most noticeable from the bottom rear of the engine on drivers side.
Start and running fine.
I’m assuming it’s a lifter that bled down while I have had the car out of commission for interior work.

Do I just let run up to temp at idle and monitor until it goes away or does it require higher revs to pump itself back up?

Anything else I need to check or worry about.
Oil level is fine.
Regards.
Dave.

sounds normal for a car sitting. just run her and warm her up for awhile.

Thanks Jake, much obliged.

Swepco 502 is a great additive to add as well. Mine sat for a month and I had lifter tapping. Added Swepco and noise was gone in a minute.

Just let it idle away. First time it happened to me was very scary!

There is no need for an additive, but anything SWEPCO is good.

Appreciate the advice, Swepco on order just in case.
I couldn't get out there today to run it out. Thanks again you guys, invaluable forum.
I will bump the thread if something sketchy happens. ;)

Mine does it too

They all do this....super common at the shop, where cars are moved short distances in and out of the shop.

It can take 5 minutes for the lifter to pump up, completely, so don't be alarmed if the noise doesn't go away quickly. (The oil hole in the side of the lifter needs to rotate to the top for all the air to escape.)

I run the engines at about 2,000 rpms to help this process happen quicker.

Next oil change, put a quart of Rislone in it. Fixed mine 2 years ago. I haven't added since.
