Did the cams come with timing specs?

If the intake is not opening at 3 deg BTDC, and that is their spec, then the cams need to be re-timed and advanced until they do.

Sterling,

For the 1/4 bank the indent for timing on the cam sprocket looks to be where it should be but for the 5/8 bank, although it is far from clear, the photo gives me the impression the 5/8 sprocket might be a tooth out relative to where it should be. Sounds too obvious for someone like yourself to miss but perhaps you can confirm that the 5/8 sprocket is belted where it should be just to eliminate the obvious.

Out of interest, what exactly did you measure to determine that the timing is out at the moment? The problem has to be something "silly". Have you checked timing with the 32VR kit at all? Not even sure the thing will time with that kit with non std cams.
