Default Radiator cover sealing strips attachment

part #55 Is a metal cap that sits on top of the front leading edge of the radiation and covers the gap with the AC condenser. #46 and 53 are rubber sealing strips. the picture in PET does not accurately represent what the strips look like. pretty sure that #46 attaches to the metal cap and lays forward like a skirt. ( but not 100% sure?) #53 is where I get lost. does this attach to the top of the radiator? do I need to cut out notches to give relief for the 3 clips that hold the cap in place?

anyone have some photos to post?

the PET diagram appears to show #46 forward of the metal cap, and #53 rearward:: wondering if that is reversed?

rob, I know you have about 200 photos of these pieces.

Didn't I already answer this in a PM? I did- 12-10-18

Copied here, for posterity:

Yes, you need a couple parts there. You need the three clips #54, and you need the black strip (#46) , which attaches to the underside of the #55 tray.

Here's a shot of the clips to hold #55 to the top of the radiator:

And the strip (pic taken from my old '90 GT):

Somewhat related question: is there a similar seal of some sort, that seals from the radiator to the hood, to prevent the air just going up and over?
I'm assuming that it should be on the fan shroud, if the seal were present. My project car came to me with no shroud, and the one I harvested from a wrecking yard had nothing along that edge, if there was supposed to be one there.

yes, you did PM me; sorry for my confusion. ^^^^^this pic looks like the two strips are sandwiched together? here is my metal cap with the round hollow strip attached like your photo above.

referring to your same photo, it looks like on the upper right side of the hollow, is a flap that extend upward, like the profile of the 2nd rubber strip; are these supposed to be stacked?
below is photo with the other rubber strip profile shown. looks similar to a door glass wiper gasket

problem solved! I think?? the PET appears to show that both of these rubber strips attach to the metal cap (#55). I believe only #53 attaches to the cap, as shown in rob's photo, and this one

would appreciate confirmation to be certain.

there is a seal on the fan shroud: #28 on page 105-06. a little irony, is that this is also #46 (referred to above) from page 105-05. same part number 928 106 271 02.

Thank you, indeed.

I'll have to look into making or finding the front of radiator hose support and seal bracket for my car, as well as getting a seal for the top of the fan shroud.

That setup is for a manual car. The automatic is different because the transmission cooler sits on top of the condenser. Different seal.
Does not matter on 92 to 95 GTS's as both auto and manual have the transmission cooler.
Looking at PET it helps defines what is needed by referencing engine types to each seal. That is why it can get a little confusing.

Hopefully this photo helps. The rubber strip I am holding attaches to the top of the fan shroud to form a seal to the bonnet (hood).

You can see the wear marks after 30 years on the bonnet.

Roger, will this condensor-to-radiator cover fit on my '83 manual? Seems like a good idea!
