big block mopar is 121.92mm, 928/944 is 122...

i bought an edelbrock "426 hemi" fuel rail and with injectors it fit perfect onto a 944 manifold, as an experiment.

Ok Cool. Rob, if you are reading this, we need a full solidworks file after the scan so Greg can make all his modifications. From there we can make a toolpath using Mastercam or BobCam,

I'm pretty sure Rob has a solidworks program, now.

You kind of have to ask yourself, "WHY", right?

With all the aluminum heads available for a BBC, installing a 4 valve head with very limited camshaft capacity seems a bit....eccentric.

BTW....did it ever run? The engine in the picture is little more than a "mock-up", with a bunch of pieces missing.

The intake looks like an aluminum version of a Phil Threshie intake, BTW.

Well, I am very impressed, making an engine block out of a big chunk of aluminum. How far technology has come. For a new engine block provision should be made for larger bore, at least 4.250", maybe up to 4.500" will be possible. Furthermore improved engine ventilation from the crankcase should be implemented so we can get rid of the ventilation through the valve covers which is a bad thing.

Greg and I spent MLK day scanning a GTS block that happens to be apart. About 200 separate scan images (22 GB of data) that I'm aligning manually. The damned day job keeps getting in the way but the worst of teaching season is almost over.

Insane! I know, a lot of work. Which is why I didn't want to do it, LOL.

Been there, done that.

Of course, all I was qualified to do was provide the darkened room and the rotary table. Although making a room dark requires a tremendous amount of effort, Rob did 100% of the actual work, while I sat and asked stupid questions.

His laptop has 10x the calculating and storage space that every computer I own, all together, has. Each one of the scans are huge....combining them into one file is many, many gigs of data.

Whatever that means....

My contribution to "Thor" was two of my rebuildable piston squirters per cylinder that were in the car when Rob won that challenge!
