Just bought new defogger relay, having issues
So I bought a new defogger/defroster relay because the defrost was not activating when the button was pressed. The new one I put in appeared to work; I pushed the button with the ignition on and it appeared to turn on. Then I pressed it again and it didn't turn off. Then, I turned the ignition off, and it still didn't turn off. I tried the button again and all the dash lights flashed, now I am certain this is not normal behavior. Is this a defect of the relay that I can correct, or should I just send it back?

I would suggest that you instead turn the def **** to turn it on
pressing it turns on an internal timer in the relay once it’s on the timer will then be tasked with turning it off twisting the **** gives manual operation
Report what you find
Note do not disconnect the battery to try and shut off the engine
instead pull the fuel pump fuse
Note defrost relays are known to back power the electric system and thus the engine will not turn off with the key
Note you should verify that the CE panel has the correct fuses installed and that the unused ones are empty
