Unusual Odometer Problem
Has this happened to anyone? Will I have to remove the pod and take apart the cluster just to get this annoying old sticker out? I am hoping for a miraculous quick fix. Haha!
sorry for the poor pic quality.

Well, you could turn the car upside down and shake it really hard in the hope that the sticker will fall somewhere out of sight.
Or you could pull the cluster and take it out with tweezers.
Your call.
The second method requires under an hour (once you’ve done it a few times) on a non-airbag 928.

Huh, I hadn’t thought of that first one! Does anyone have a rotisserie in the Bay Area I could borrow? ; )
Regarding the second suggestion, I guess that’s the way to go. I might as well renew all the light bulbs when I’m in there.
I’ve removed the cluster out of my Boxster. Upgraded it to a five gauge 996S cluster. This looks a bit more complicated than that though.

Follow Dwayne's write-up, go slow:

The first time I took a pot / cluster apart using those instructions I couldn't believe how easy it was and how fast I had everything apart.
I cleaned up every electrical contact with Stan approved Deoxit and replaced the three main cluster bulbs with these:

It's not as hard as you seem to think.
I've had my cluster out a few times.
I was getting intermittent fuel & temp gauges, so I took it out again to clean up all the connections.
Maybe 20 min to get the cluster out. I didn't take the pod all the way off. I left the pod switches in place and tilted it forward.
Dwayne's writeup is great. There's a section in there out of order. Read through it a couple of times and it makes sense.

UPDATE
Update - Fixed! Thanks for all the help. Took about 90 minutes, which included replacing all the light bulbs. Over half were burnt out. Also, there were about SIX of those little stickers that fell out of the unit when I got it apart. Made sure to remove the remaining ones. Easy job!
