Default Rennfax on 1994 GTS Auto

A friend is considering this car offered by Barret Jackson Scottsdale this winter. The VIN is WP0AA2923RS820138. Other than the missing jump post cover it looks clean and presentable. The lack of a jump post cover makes me wonder about the quality of care and feeding as well as what water pump/timing belt was done "2000 miles ago", who did the work and if the whole front-of-engine service was done. Anyone with knowledge of the cars history please chime in. I'm thinking value somewhere around $50k if the mileage is in the 50k-125k range and the details line up (no accidents, reputable shop doing service, documented TBF measurement, all original, etc. etc. etc.)

I know nothing about that one, but there is a far-better ‘94 auto for sale right now. It’s just not black. It’s white. $35k+ worth of restoration in the last two years by Greg and me (mostly Greg.)

This would get better exposure if it was in the FS thread.

A quick search reveals 63k miles and an optimistic (IMO) asking price: https://www.motorcar.com/for-sale/us...3-2885029.html

It says that Mckenna Porsche did the timing belt and water pump. I don't know of their specific reputation.

The '94 is listed in this month's Pano. It's not on the PCA website classifieds (which is kinda weird) so I can't post a link.

Asking price is $83,500. It had 52050 miles when it was at my shop in June. Anyone that doesn't get Pano and is interested PM me and I'll forward the contact info.

Here's a thread on the white GTS:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...strong-er.html

This really is a no-big-worries GTS. SuperClamp, piston oil drains drilled, heads done. Basically everything in the engine bay was done by Greg. I've tended to a handful of minor things unrelated to the engine since the current owner bought it in 2017.

I'll see it again this spring for a t-belt check and fluids. Unless someone buys it and it leaves Yankee Land.

Dave, What is the powder coat color on the intake (assuming Greg had it done)? Much nicer example than the one offered by Barret Jackson.

That's whatever p-c color recipe Greg decided upon after much experimenting. IIRC there's a thread on it somewhere.

Saw that car in person - it is in showroom condition, the newest-looking 928 I've ever seen, and fully restored mechanically by the top 928 gurus.
