S4+ Sunroof Wind Deflector Adjustment..
#2
Thanks for posting this Speedtoys. I've been wondering if there's a sr adjustment b/c even moderate speeds (35-50 mph), it seems a little too loud, but w/no frame of wind-noise reference, I figured I'd just live with it. I appreciate the info. "Thank you".
p.s.: Do you still have your ski rack? How do you like it? Since it's pretty near my house, I go to Sierra at Tahoe*(Sierra "Ski Ranch"* for us old-old timers) & have been looking for one. Do you know of any for sale, or have you seen any others for sale recently? It's a long-shot I know, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks again.

Thanks for responding to me. I guess I knew the answer, statistically speaking, before I even asked the question. I'm going to keep my eyes open for one (it might be the rarest of accessory Unicorns).....the funny thing is that I don't even think of driving my '87 up Hwy. 50 to go skiing because of the sand CAL-TRANS spreads on the road, BUT....if I had "the"* rack , I wouldn't think twice about driving it up there every time I went. *("the" rack= the Porsche 928 rack..your rack. Even if the best Yakima or Thule rack out there, but I wouldn't take my S4 skiing with one. Having just written that & reading it back to myself it seems pretty weird........but it's the truth).
Thank you again.

Your car, your choice, but the real damage done by the sand is underneath.
It essentially sandblasts the entire underside of the car.
Once it gets to bare metal (it goes through the galvanized layer), it rusts.

Cars are for driving, IMHO, it's worth more to show a driven car, than a parking one. It was hard to convey that I out 20k miles on my car between concours showings, and it created a flurry of note taking.
I dont think Ive ever seen a car missing its rubber coating...our ski zone sand is at least, just that.

I agree that cars are for driving. I ended up putting around 2500 miles on the 928 this summer. I put 4k on the Cayenne all last year.
I just won't drive a car I care about in salt & sand in the winter.
The fact that my 928 comes apart (especially underneath) without any hassle or drama is nice.
I just did the trans, T/C & diff fluids in my Cayenne a week ago. The difference underneath from a car that sees zero snow/salt to one that does is rather dramatic.
We had this discussion in the 'how do you store your car' thread a month or so ago.
