The CPS sensor is not a hall style sensor. It is a VR (variable reluctance) sensor. Very different operation and it is a wear item.
If you have good power to the EZK and get no spark during cranking (check at the coil leads to minimize items in the middle), then you have a bad CPS sensor.

Default Running again

Based on the tests above. I swapped out the new CPS with another new CPS and the car started right up. It was raining cats and dogs outside so I wasn’t able to do any real road tests but all the garage tests worked out. I ran it for about 20 min and started it several times.

I want to thank @DrBob for his recommendation to work through the factory test sequence. It really helped take the guesswork out of the problem.

Awesome work. It is so easy to just throw your hands up and that's how cars end up sitting for 10+ years.

I have a new CPS I can test to hopefully avoid this kind of problem.

@Michael Benno How are the coatings on your magnesium alloy parts holding up after these few years?

The performance ceramic coating has held up perfectly. Here is a photo of the engine when I sold the car last year:

I was so pleased with the results that I decided to do it again on my GTS

Just be aware, not all ceramic coatings are created equal. Cerrakote is just a coating like paint. It does not have any performance characteristics. The coating used here was a breathable coating formulated for magnesium alloy such that it allows the magnesium to off-gas oil vapor (ie: blocks, wheels, and manifoldly parts). Find a performance ceramic coater that does exhausts, they will likely be able to help formulate something for your needs.
