Sunroof weatherstripping - felt side up
Hello all,
My new 928 came with no sunroof weatherstripping. I installed it felt side down last night but I fear it should be felt side up. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks

Now I'm totally frustrated. Pull the panel, flipped both strips and I still can't get it to operate. Long story short is I bought the car that had a recent spray which had no sunroof weatherstripping. Sunroof was perfectly flush, just no weatherstripping. Now the back is too low, the front is too high, and I can't get it to move at all. I cleaned out all the grease in the transmission and on the cables. Redid the tracts. But its like there is too much friction with the weatherstripping to the opening.

Needs adjusted...its kinda complicated and "play with it".
Front too high is generally you messed with the large flat adjuster screws with a screwdriver, and the shuttles need adjusted to get the rear right.
There are some good threads on this Google can find.

I had new felt fitted to my sunroof a few years ago after a full paint, and have similar problem. I put it down to the new felt preventing the roof travelling fully to the front and into its proper closed position...? It seems visibly rearwards from fully closed.

Ok...I forgot.
When you install the new trim "seal", stretch it on, you'll end up cutting a # of inches.
Left 'natural' it is too thick, yes, 100%.
Lube with window cleaner spray, play with it..but yup, it s too thick not stretched.
But front high, rear low..is 100% adjustment.

Thanks but the fronts are full clockwise which should make the front too low. Maybe its just hung on the weatherstripping. I will read more old threads.

Last page of the "New Visitor" sticky has a link to Dan The Pod Guy's writeup.
Step-by-step on how to adjust it.
It's a bit counterintuitive. And very fiddly.
But not too difficult, with good directions.
