I always thought my offset on the front was 61mm. With an actual 68mm offset, the wheel is pulled inwards towards the engine by 7mm, or about 3/10 of an inch more which gives that much more wheel-clearance for the front fender.

Now with the proposed 10 x 61mm wheel which is 1/2" wider than mine, as well as less offset, it is going to be tight, so I'm not so sure now in light of these numbers.

I gave Erik my old 18 x 265's so that he can do test-fittings on his S4.
Thank you for taking the time to do this for me Swabar. I really appreciate that.
My proposed wheels are 65mm offset, so it would be only 3mm difference from what you are running. Is that correct? Maybe a small spacer and some minor lip rolling may be required?

My big hope was to run 275 on front and 305 min on the rear, if this could possibly be made to work. Appreciate all your help.

65mm? Okay, that's better. However, running a spacer will reduce your offset, and push your wheel out towards the fender which you don't want.

I'm thinking a 275 would be too large taking into consideration everything else. My 265 fits within the fender just right as is. Could I get a 275 in there? Maybe, but I'm not confident enough to try one.

With that said, next time for me, I'm going with 305's on the rear as I'm running a small spacer to get the 295's out as far as possible toward the wheel-opening lip.

This is a good option - There's a at least 4 or 5 different styles of Porsche original Panamera 19 wheels including the ones Gatorbait linked above:

Front: 9X19 ET60
Rear: 10X19 ET61

This ebay search string will help:

"panamera 19 wheels -(20,18,21,22)"

Fit them on a 928 in Germany and your insurance is invalidated for starters no matter what happened or whose fault it was if the police or authorities spot such as they invariably will in the case of a big accident.
Can you cite any authority or decision.

Have 19" Carrera Classic 235/35/19 & 295/30/19 on my '92 928GTS. I do hold my breath on every TÜV inspection (since not entered in the Fahrzeugschein), but up to now it always passed.

Have been told as long as original Porsche wheels!

The point came up in discussion with the local Porsche service manager [a German national] when I fitted 18 inch take offs from another Porsche. His point was that if the wheels were not approved for use on the car by the manufacturer then the owner ran the risk of having their insurance invalidated in the event the insurance company wanted to investigate a claim. Another German biking friend of mine who was the service manager for Mercedes Benz also advised a similar outlook. Being as these chaps were well placed in the motor trade it seemed reasonable to accept that what they were saying. I understand they are just as critical on matters such as exhaust, lighting & brakes.*

Porsche have made it very clear that 18 inch wheels are not approved for use on the 928 so one would conclude that running wheels such as such as your 19 inch jobs may be very risky. If you find yourself in such a situation then I would strongly recommend that you take careful advice to ensure you do not unintentionally fall foul of the authorities. Ironically I was also advised that if I took a 928 into Germany with a non German registration such rules do not apply.

Personally, I would throw anyone running 19 inch wheels on a 928 into prison for lack of good taste- I really do not like the look of 19 inch wheels on a 928 but that is just a personal point of view.**

Hi BauerR

Do you have photos of the wheels on the car? Do they rub at all?
