Christopher - First, when the weather cooperates get under the car and clean. As others have stated, there are several sources of oil up high that will run down the back of the engine and mimic a leaking oil pan. You want to focus on where the leak is coming from before making any assumptions.
There is a good 928 mechanic just west of Rt. 28 Herndon/Sterling - but getting your car to Stan is by far the best option.
If you decide to tackle this in your driveway I have a Harbor Freight engine support (suspend) bar you can borrow. You might consider renting a storage unit for a month and buying a LED camp lantern, nice headlamp and lots of batteries. A month's rent for a storage unit is probably equal to the first two hours at a shop. It's a big job so the rental unit would be well worth it.

On the coolant leak possibility, I've found them by lifting the car and applying about several (no more than 5) psi into the cooling system, then searching with a light from below.
I modified a spare coolant reservoir cap with a fitting, then applied pressure with a hand pump.
But maybe yours is a non issue.
The MM/OPG job and the TP/WP jobs are pretty much two separate campaigns.

Hey Chris; you’re in Md, right? I’m in CARROLL County. I have a Quickjack5000 and we can get your car up in about 10 mins to take a look.
Suspects back under there (at least from my experience) are like Dr Bob said; 1) oil leaks from the oil filler inlet seal into the valley and the volume of oil in the valley finally took a dump out the back of the valley onto the floor ( no big deal here), and 2) your PS rack is back there too. Squeeze the boots and see if fluid oozes out. No real big deal either.
You do need to undertake a clean up job under there first. I’ve found that engine cleaner spray followed by washing with a water spray bottle prevents being soaked like when using a hose. Honestly; an incidental oil dump from an oil pan gasket, cam end-plug or valve cover gasket would be a big surprise. These are usually every day dime/quarter sized drips.
If you would like to come out, please PM me and we can arrange a day/time to look it over.

You don't need an engine hoist to support the engine when the crossmember is removed (you DO need to support the engine).
Dwayne's writeup shows a simple, cheap and effective way to make a support with lumber. I used that to hold mine (and it held it for a month or so).
Stan (MrMerlin) is in Philly. Not quite local, but well worth the trip.
