Default Low dust brake pad recommendations on 1983

I don't know what brand or kind of brake pads I have on my car but within 30 miles my freshly washed Carrera III wheels are covered in thick black dust and I hardly touch the brakes. I tried el cheapo Advanced Auto semi-metallic pads but when it came time to clip on the wear sensors they were not machined correctly so I returned them.

I don't care for high performance just that they stop and produce less dust. Can anyone recommend pads for the S brakes (1983-1986)?

Pads labeled Ceramic or Organic will produce less dust than semi-metallic.

Roger:
I believe I had Hawk "street" pads on my former '86.5 and when they got heated up squealed very loudly.

Hawk pads are zero noise and practically zero dust - if they made noise they were not installed correctly.
Correct damper pads needed

It's been a while and don't remember if I used damper pads on the backs.

Hawk "street" here.

No noise and no, well, not much dust.

Got them on the car since 2011.

Very satisfied.

Do you still have damper pads on your vehicle?
I will do brakes in the spring and I'm sure no dampers without any brake noise

It’s been a while since I used the permetex. Not an issue right now since I don’t have the 86.5 anymore but since the new owner complained about it I will pass on the information. Thanks Bertrand
