I did something like this with an '09 Cayman, from SoCal to NY. A fairly new car. I expected no trouble, and got none.
But for my 928, I did the reverse, sorta: I insisted the Boston seller drive it to me since he trusted the 15-year-old timing belt, but I did not. He was right, I guess - he made it.
Good luck!

Alright thanks guys- will post pics along the way. I can’t wait. I wish I could stop and smell the roses but with two boys at home, it’s already asking my wife a lot to A) not leave me for purchasing a 2nd Porsche and B) taking off in the middle of a work week to retrieve said Porsche. What a woman!

Well we made it! I met the seller and the car at the Porsche garage in Little Rock: Perfection Plus. Rick and Steve there were great guys and Rick took me all through the car, put it up on a lift, and took me on a drive during which we spent time at 100mph. Then I handed over my check and signed the papers and took off from Little Rock at 10:15AM CST. I pulled into my driveway in Canton, OH at 3:30AM EST. Then up this morning to put the boys on the bus. The car was rock solid the whole way, just devouring the highway at 80mph hour after hour after hour. Temp gauge barely budged. Mileage seemed to be around 20-22 mpg (?).
