Default Power steering pump pre 81 - parts

Hi,

I am trying to rebuild my power steering pump of my 928S euro of 1980 since it leaked at the back through the O-ring seals.
Unfortunately the rebuildkit 928.347.921.00 does not fit my pump!
My pump is a cast iron ZF (type 7671955110) while from 1981 Porsche changed the pumps
to aluminium.
Does anyone know which rebuild kit I need.
Difference with later pump is that my seal at pulley axe is larger, and I also have other O rings.

There is no rebuild kit for the early pumps that I have found.
Take it to a local hydraulic shop and ask what they can do with it.
Or buy a rebuilt pump.

that is a shame since I want to rebuild the pump myself since it is quite easy.
Perhaps a silly question : will one of the O-rings in the rebuildkit for later pumps fit ?
it seems to have same measurements : diameter 70mm, thickness 3mm

I ran into the same problem about 4 years ago. I had a rebuild kit, but the front seal was wrong. I was able to acquire the correct seal from a local power transmission company (not a car related company). They happened to have the seal in stock. The Oring I had from the kit matched, though.

I can’t read the seal size on your photo, but if you can, you may be able to find it online.

So you mean that the O-ring of the kit for the later aluminium pump will fit my pump? Correct ?
I measured the Original used O-ring of my pump : inside diameter about 68mm, outside diameter 72mm, thickness 2.5mm
The inside diameter of my pump is 67,95 mm

Here some photos of the old seals from my early type pump and the seals from later type pump:
Do you think that new type seal is compatible with early pump?

Hi there. I'm right at the same spot as you were in 2018. How did you solve the problem? Did you find the proper shaft seal? Bart

Dear Bart,
I found both seals at a company in the Netherlands :

Company is technirub.nl
Here are the links to both Orings:

Good to see you are still going strong Gerrit! I will probably need to do this one within a few years too, thx for sharing...I have been lazy / busy last months but now starting up for some winter work on the car, going to check my injectors and try to get back into the refurbishment of the gearbox. Good luck with this one!

Hello Arie, you too man. This summer I drove my 928 regularly despite the crack in my engine (I temporary sealed it). Next project for me will be the relay and fuseboard.
I will transform the plastic tubeshaped fuses to flat spaded ones like this :
