Sold listings eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/Cars-Trucks/6001/i.html?_sop=10&_fosrp=1&makeval=Porsche&modelval=928&_stpos=85719-2651&_nkw=Porsche%20928&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m 1684

Scroll down a bit: https://bringatrailer.com/porsche/928/

Varables here are the usual suspects, ex: maintenence history..documented service performed by a qualified 928 mechanic helps a bunch, overall condition, originality, previous accidents, miles (documented), int/ext color(s), auto or 5spd, etc. T

From 0$ to $25k depending upon maintenance/restoration history.

What was the crank end-play measurement from your PPI?

Mid $20k. If it is missing the jump post cover, then $1075.

Look up under the front, see if the front and rear pans are there. If so, how is the front spoiler/pan cond? Inspect the front fender liners carefully. If these are well taken care of it show owner love.

Groovzilla - do you know what that is mounted on the passenger side of the center console?

If you do buy the car, it doesn't hurt to ask if he's throwing in any of the original equipment (if he has it). I.e., steering wheel, radio, wheels, etc.

Condition, condition, condition.

Let's see the PPI, when it is done.

Whatever the right price will be, deduct $1k for removing the pinstripes. Having those in 2018 should be considered a crime.

Having recently bought a car with not only one set of upper pinstripes, but lower stripes, too, I can tell you it’s a chore to remove.
Even with a heat gun on low, burnt fingers happen

ended up with 5 ***** of gold tone tape, each between a golf ball and tennis ball in size. Scary, those 80s.

Personally, I like pinstripes if done correctly. They enhance the lines. This car looks pretty nice, and miles are not bad for the year. Big question is maintenance history. If present, and all caught up, then with a clean ppi, yes, high teens low twenties. This gives enough room to fix the dash and still be on the right side of the value chain. One other thing, check the accident history - it has a replacement GTS style rear bumper cover. You'll need to find out why. If the car has been in an accident, then much more needs to be know to give a good value guess.

Looks like the one for sale by Duffy's on craigslist....been for sale for a long time and I think its dropped from around 18K to 11K... i'd get a good PPI on this one.....these sideshow dealers are always a risky proposition...

Serious recent price drop. I guess they are tired of looking at it on the lot. Betting they have at least $11k in it. Some dealer thought he was stealing a 'Porsche' on trade-in and didn't figure the 928 market right. Yes, missing jump post cover. Walk in with $11k cash, walk out happy.

Interesting. Considering that rear bumper cover replacement, something might be going on with it. That is a big drop.

It's not my 1st Rodeo and if I was to get more serious about a purchase, PPI and service history/document research would be #1 - I have been looking at 928's over the past few months and even bidded on a local 928 on BAT that was fairly hammered but pricing was low and would have maybe been fun to tinker with.
I bailed on it realizing I didn't need a project laying around.

Not sure what I will do on this particular 928, I'm going over to look at it tomorrow and take it for a drive.
Lets see if that V8 gets my blood up enough to pursue it
.....I'd be doing it today but leaving shortly and headed to South Seattle to buy another 1995 BMW R100RT motorcycle so mine has a playmate

Don't forget the 88US car has 2.20 diff ratio. don't expect it to be a drag racer. Maybe do a start in 1st gear will help some.
