Anyone know the HP difference on euros vs us-spec cars of this same model year? This one looks interesting!

306 hp for the twin dizzy euro, 288 for the U.S. 5.0 32 v.

Looks like the seller is in New England and, if so, there is a fair chance this is a car owned by a guy in the Boston area who has been offering it for sale in different venues for the last six years. I tried to buy it in 2012, but the ask was way above market at that time. Most recently offered on BAT, where it unsurprisingly did not make reserve. With the dollars being thrown at top cars lately, maybe there is a method to the seller's madness, but this is not such a car and needs to be priced more reasonably. People from the forum have seen this car, so if you are serious about pursuing it you should spend some time looking for the other threads. Personally, I think the owner is either delusional about its actual value or is going to extreme lengths to keep up the appearance of actually trying to sell the car.

Without going into detail on that specific car, there's a world of difference between the motors.

The 84 - 86 Euro (RoW) has the M28/21 & 22 motor (5 speed & auto, respectively). The cars are commonly called "S2", but that was only an official designation for cars sold in the UK. Last of the 16v motors. It has 2 4 cyl distributors mounted font & back on the Driver side head. Actually 944 caps & rotors. Commonly called the 'twin dizzie' motor. They went with that setup because they found they needed 2 coils to keep up with the spark demand. 32v motors also had a dual coil/dual distributor setup, but it was very different.
It also had a 'spider' intake, with bigger legs (flowed more air), better cams, and heads with bigger valves. Some early 84s used up old pistons, but once those were gone, the motors had a 10.4 ;1 compression ratio (these are interference motors). Combine that with the EZF ignition (no knock sensors) and the LH 2.2 fuel injection (hot wire MAF) and it was rated at 310 PS (Metric power rating, about 0.98 HP, so about 306 HP for the motor). There are stories that there were cars taken directly off the showroom floor that dynoed around 330 HP. It has been suggested that Porsche "sandbagged" the rated power to keep it from upstaging the new 32v motor. I have no confirmation on this.

The 85 & 86 US cars had the M28/41 & 42 motor. Commonly called the "S3", but that was never an official designation. First of the 32v motors. They had the big 'pipe organ' intake. They had dual distributors & coils, with the distributors mounted on the front of the heads, with the rotors attached to the cam gears. It had the same EZF & LH 2.2. Rated at 288 HP, which is accurate AFAIK.

The 32v S3 motor was available of cars in a few different markets outside the US.

As an aside, there was a thread about 924 marker lights on a 928. This car has the somewhat typical 'trailer light' marker lights. And they are mounted pretty high up on the back end. Factory markers are much lower, well below the top of the wheel opening.

I'm not sure what gives with this one.
No sale at $12.5k on BAT, seems low. Possible $30k reserve, seems high. What is the current ask?
