Stripped Allen Head Bolt
Hey fellas,
what’s the best way to remove the thermostat housing rear drivers side Allen head bolt? It’s a size 6, and I tried a 7 and it won’t fit. I can’t get a drummel in the to cut a slot for a flathead. I’m at a standstill.

Ive sometimes been able to hammer a torx bit into a rounded Allen head to get it moving.
I also used a 12.9 grade hardened bolt on the reinstall. it allowed me to get a nice hold with the original allen wrench. good luck

As an owner of a 928, you should own a manual impact tool. Use this to get the bolt moving with the torx bit driven into the head.

I had the same problem and used a dremmel flexi extension that is narrow enough to access the bolt to cut slots. I cant remember if there is enough room but Ive used a grip nut on quite a few of my S2's allen head screws (the one you need is the number 7 IIRC)

I was also going to suggest Irwin bolt extractor, but then thought not enough room unless the intake is off. If it’s still on there won’t be space for the extractor to sit, let alone a socket to turn the extractor.
