Default Arizona 928 Run to Jerome

Sharing this for the Rennlist member not on the Desert Sharks FB page.

Finally the heat is simmering down. Track 928 owner Drew suggested that we get our Porsches on the road for a nice drive on Sunday October 7
th.
A drive to Sedona would be nice with photo shoot in a Sedona parking lot with the red rocks in the background, and then drive up the hill to Jerome. Please reply if you plan to attend.

Meet on the north side of Phoenix, Sunday at 9 AM

McDonalds
3140 W Carefree Hwy
Phoenix, AZ 85086

Located in the Tramonto Marketplace

Goal to be on the road by 9:25 AM.

There are some northern AZ Porsche 928 owners on the list who may like to join us. Would the Burger King be a reasonable location to meet? I could call you when we’re on the road with an ETA (about 1 hr after group departure).

Burger King
365 North Goswick Way
Camp Verde, AZ 86322

SE Junction of I17 and Finny Flat Rd.

We’d next head up to Sedona.
There is a lot behind the Sedona Arts Center (15 Art Barn Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336) on the north side of Sedona that can accommodate a group of cars. We can take photos and spend some time talking here.

We’ll look into lunch logistics based upon how many will attend.
The return to Phoenix has two possible routes, back to I17 for a quick return, or over the hill via the twisty roads and down through Yarnell to Wickenburg. It is your choice which return drive to take.
I’m open to further suggestions. If your Porsche isn’t running, or isn’t a road car, feel free to drive what you wish … as long as it can keep up ;^)

Thanks,
Rich Andrade

Mike. I would do the Jerome part if you all go there. Not sure if I like the heat in Sedona. should I take the US car with AC or, the euro with no AC?

Average temperature in Sedona in October is around 75. Should be pretty nice without AC.

Not sure yet on the timing - but I’d like to come along too. I remember a trip to Jerome many years ago - and the police chasing us up Yarnell hill.. I’m sure Rich remembers that one - Marc White was in town for it too. Let’s skip that part this time - BTDT!

Reminder for everyone attending.
I did sell my 928, and if I can get the other project going I will be attending.

Default Reschedule - Sedona Drive

We're rescheduling the October 7th Sedona drive due to forecasts of heavy rains. This thread will be updated when the event date is determined.

I recently relocated to the desert state, about 12 miles west of Surprise. Look forward to meeting you guys. I couldn't make tomorrow's ride, so the reschedule is fortuitous for me.
