And strut complete. I was going to get the spring perch etc zinced but opted for powder coating instead. Also got the gearbox back from the painter. Wow, it's shiny. Pics of that when all the zinc parts are back and the diff cover back from the polisher.

Hi Scott.

If you ever need a lift with something or a second hand give me a call.
If I am free I am more than happy to help. I might learn something.
Or if your doing something technical timing belt, tuning whatever also keen to see the process.

Note that the CV joints changed in the early years - the tin plate cover (chrome yellow in pic) got a larger depression to help the rubber boot stay in place, as they tended to slip off once the grease got under them. IIRC same unit as used on 911s. If you get new boots make sure they fit your cover, as the later boot wont hold on the early cover.

Cheers Greg. I'll pulling the motor in a month or two I'd reckon. I'll keep you posted.

JP. I'm using 930 CV's. They are marginal bigger but work just the same, if not better according to my mechanic.

Should be good CVs, so all good.
Whats the difference between the front shocker top bolts and the rear shocker top bolts?

Potential glitch - the rear shocker top bolt pattern is asymmetric - will only go up one way, where the fronts are symmetrical, and will fit any of 3 ways. Caught me out, trying to refit them on my own.

My shiny diff cover and new bushes in the rear. I was lucky and scored the bushes for $35.00 each. Brand new.

Wow...how fast time flies! Finally had chance to pull the motor out. Then I'll clear the engine bay and re-paint in there and add a new firewall pad.
