Thanks for the info. I hope that's just Cali prices.

Sorry to see this. I could make a joke about losing your tank (artillery?) license, but it is too soon. As someone who has also curbed through an entrance ramp, I feel some of your pain. I however got away chastened and only needed a simple wheel straightening. Now I have to get the other 3 polished to match.

I'm hopeful that getting it straightened won't run more than a few hundred. If it crosses $1,000 I'm going to have to think hard, since I'm pretty sure I can find a straight and rust-free basket case for less than that and basically move my car into that car. My indy is storing the car for now, and a frame guy is coming by to give me a good estimate in the next few days.
Absolutely not going to be ready for Frenzy.
Here's a sad '79 Euro that needs rescuer: https://binghamton.craigslist.org/ct...655732003.html

Just renting the fixtures costs more than that.
Might as well start thinking hard, now....

Unless I just woke up in some sort of time warp back to the 1960's or you live somewhere where people work for $5 per hour, no one is going to bolt that onto a frame machine for a few hundred dollars.

Thanks for the heads up, Greg.

Shawn, this sucks. Sorry man.
Based on the damage pics in the Frenzy thread, why not claim it on your insurance to get it fixed right or get a check to replace it. It doesn't look like it's going to be a cheap repair since you're talking frame (suspension mounts), fender, bumper cover, door skin, bottom of A-pillar, suspension pieces, plus anything hidden.
What kind of policy did you carry on it and with whom. If agreed value for a decent sum with someone like Hagerty or Grundy take the check. If you had a bunch of new parts on it, buy it back for salvage value along with another one and build 1 good car from the 2 cars.
Though not accident related, this is what I did with my 914. Had the original one with lots of good parts but a rotten chassis (Northern car) and found a rust free roller, just repainted (Western car), and started swapping parts, adding parts, etc until I ended up with the build I wanted.
Not cheap, and also time consuming, but its a way to make lemonade from the lemons, and we enjoy working on these things anyway, right?
Good luck!

Thanks, Greg!
I'll explain it in detail at Frenzy, for those who are curious.

Sorry to see this. Even the engine cross member is likely twisted and damaged. The rear of the lower control arm is bolted through it. Hope for the best but that looks bad
If you end up doing a drivetrain swap into another car and I can lend a hand, I will. I'm getting the hang of it.

Hey Shawn, sure am heartbroken to see those pictures.
What was that curb made out of? Diamond?!?!?!
Don't worry, I've got a sledgehammer and a spud bar -- we can make that curb pay for what it did.
Heck, I can grab some dynamite from my neighbor's tool shed and we can fix the whole road as payback ! ! !
Please keep us informed of your progress, and best wishes for a speedy and straightforward resolution.
