Default Power seats, at times dont work, but..

They still make a noise when I use the buttons, a quiet whirring noise. Def not a motor actually moving.

Then in a few days, the seat will work fully again, proper motor noises and movement.

Then a few days later, not.

??

Its all buttons that work or not, at the same time, and all buttons make the same 'light' whirring noise when the seat doesnt work at all.

Im 99% sure that the heater element is also affected at the same times.

If you're getting the whirring noise, it sounds like the motors are spinning. I bet the coupling underneath is just loose enough where the square drive on the end of the cable is sometimes engaged and sometimes not, so sometimes when the motors spin they actually drive the worm gear and other times they don't. If one side drives but the other doesn't, that could be the problem. If neither side drives, you may need to look at the center coupling since one cable for each side comes off of it. You'll have to pull the seat and take a look. I had one side come loose on one of my 12-way GT seats I had in my '79 for a while.

Good point, but -all- of them, at the same time going good and bad, at once, randomly?

In that case, no. Has to be electrical circuitry, like a relay. Have you determined what makes the whirring sound when the seats don't move?

OK, I fixed the link in the original post... sorry about that (used URL instead of THREAD; interesting result!)
