Default Floor mats - earlier vs. later models

I'm looking to replace the floor mats on my '85 928s, and was hoping to find a set of original Porsche mats in Beige/Champage or similar. I can only find these in Grey for the pre-S4 models, but it seems possible to find them in Cashmere Beige for the S4 years.

Is there a difference in the size of the mats, or would it be possible to use a set of S4 mats on an earlier model?

They are the same. If you get in touch with Jeannie she is really good about working with you to get the color combo you want.

Happy Hump Day,

Dave

Thanks for the info. I'll do that right away.

Actually, I found the later mats to be slightly different. I have a RHD car so I don't know whether this makes a difference. On my passenger side, the cut around the door side of the mat is a bit larger. Also, the newer factory mats each have 2 x holes in them for fixing of the mats. The fixing arms actually came with the mats, so I was able to modify and install at least 1 x arm for each mat.

My mats are Porsche factory S4 items. I have a MY84 928S. I bought them direct from the Porsche parts department about 15 years ago.

I will grab a photo when I have a moment to further explain. The bottom line is they still generally fit, although not 100% perfect!

If you look at this photo, you can see a deeper cut of the mat in the top left hand corner on the passenger side.

Thanks, that's very useful.
I have been in contact with my local Porsche dealer, but they couldn't get the correct color even in the S4 version. I've settled on ordering a set of Lloyd mats.
