Default Blaupunkt Reno Aux Input - Sound quality?

If anyone is currently running a Reno that has been modified by SW to have an aux input, I would like to hear your thoughts on the sound quality. I just picked up a Reno and I'm not sure if I'm going to use it or put in a box for the future. My main concern is the sound quality while using the aux input.

If I use it I will be re-installing my factory amp and will run my Alpine powered sub off of the rear speaker outputs. Or possibly upgrading to a newer amp with a DIN cable adapter, in that case the sub could run off the RCA'a as well.

I've used signal processors (either like AudioControl EQS/EQX/EQL or smaller individual line level units) to convert the high level speaker outputs to low level amp inputs. These also include eq facilities. Then you can better go on to newer amp/speaker/eq options.

AudioControl has some other interesting car products that may give you some ideas.

Wow, they do sell some neat kit. I like the idea of having better EQ control, low and high pass filters etc. I noticed one unit actually has an aux input, but I assume volume control would then be from the iPod or SirusXm tuner.

That brings me to another thought. I love sat radio so I might ditch the iPod and then see if I can find a sat tuner that could fit under the ashe tray lid.

Before I do anything I'm going to install the reno and my factory amp and the rock a few cassette tapes. I have boxes of album tapes and mix tapes from the 80's and 90's, even radio broadcasts that I tapped.

I wish I still had mine, but I chucked them years ago when I went to CDs.

I tend to hold on to stuff, too much stuff. LOL

This Sat receiver will fit nicely but I will need to cut out the cig lighter to mount the screen behind the ashtray lid. So probably best for me to source a replacement console for the future if I decide to modify it in any way.
