Number 1 should be buying one in the first place. We all know that leads to another, then another, then parts etc etc.

It's scary how well the actual 7 deadly sins apply:

- Lust: An uncontrollable passion or longing. A club sport or last GTS would be nice.
- Gluttony: An excessive ongoing consumption. How many 928s are too many??
- Greed: Excessive pursuit. I can't be the only one that looks at BaT every day.
- Sloth: Excessive laziness. I much rather screw off on Rennlist than actually take care of overdue car projects.
- Wrath: Uncontrollable anger. I swear to God, if that next Lasso pump leaks, someone's going to need a proctologist to have it removed.
- Envy: What I would do to have drooman's #1.
- Pride: Check.

By coincidence, as an odd aside, my daughter is storing a shark for me. She lives in Seven Devils, actually the next tiny town over from Banner Elk.

I'll.add one to the list:

Buying a really nice 928, spending a fortune getting it as perfect as you can and then selling it before you really enjoy it.

I have also committed all of the sins listed on Drooman's compilation so I'm in real trouble with the 928 gods...

Repent!

Repent!

Or... go to...

But then again, I have also heard that, "You can drive a 928 straight through Hell and wonder if it was warm in there"

.

Forget the envy.. My name might be on the title now but I consider it a community asset. Pretty much everyone in this group is welcomed to come out to Connecticut and take it for a drive.

BIG one for me:

Powder coating an intake and not properly cleaning it afterwards.

Painful memories to this day...

I have a whole bunch of 928 sins wrapped up into a single car
  1. chopping the roof off
  2. using an american corvette 6-speed transmission in my German GT car
  3. bolting on forced induction to that perfect German motor
  4. cutting a 4" hole in my inner fender for an intake to feed that forced induction sin
  5. installing seats from a totally different model of Porsche (997)
  6. bolting on an unapproved rear spoiler
  7. rolling on aftermarket, non OEM rims
....and I love what it has become

Buying one without checking (or even knowing about) thrust bearing play (oh wait, did that with mine) ...

Sheesh, just getting started in the 928 game, and already committing a few of these!

Picking up a "ran when parked" 1978 car as soon as the owner gets the replacement title in hand. He had the title, but gave it to the DMV saying that it was scrapped, the day before the scrapper told him that they needed the title or they couldn't do anything with the car.

I'm getting it for free, as I couldn't bear to see him send it to be scrapped!

Gluttony: how many cars do you really need? Surely a GT car will fit into the stable, somehow...
Lust: years of admiring 928's (though never expecting to own one, especially to be handed one!)

Making your 928 ---yours - driving the crap out of it - condemned by the purist- who think it should sit in cold storage and rot as an investment: icon501:
