Default '79 928 auto starts fine dies when gas is pressed

Hello! This is my first post to this forum. Thanks to Wpgshark for pointing me to it.

Recently, my "OB" 928 started to have a hesitation when accelerating. At times it was a second or two before acceleration would kick it but then would run fine. Even more recently, it has begun to simply die out when the gas is pressed. I was hoping someone might have a few suggestions for a new 928 owner. As I mentioned in the title, it is a 1979 automatic.

thanks!
Nathan

your going to need to check the control and operating pressures to figure out the issue ,
Roger has a set of Gauges.

But off the bat I will say you probably have a vacuum leak,
once the pedal is pushed the system goes to a leaner mixture then it stalls.
If a vacuum leak is not found the gauges are needed

Thanks for your reply!

Because of your message, I did a search for "vacuum leak" and found a great article on Rennlist about possible reasons for hesitations: https://rennlist.com/how-tos/a/porsc...itating-378349

Very helpful.

cheers
