Pasha or Pascha
Turns out both are correct. There is a fantastic article on pasha in the most recent edition of 000. It was designed by Tony Lapine's team specifically for the 928, and then later adopted into the 924, 944 and 911. That magazine never ceases to amaze me with the depth and level of research on really cool and obscure stuff that matters a bunch to the likes of us.

Pascha is the German, while Pasha was used for American marketing. I also learned from that article that it was developed as a representation of a checkered flag in motion, at considerable trouble and expense.
Yup. And "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" had nothing to do with LSD.

Yes. That's what I always thought as well, as that made the most sense and frankly, that's what it looked like to me. I like this magazine, it provides such great historical perspective on Porsche things, and they aren't stingy when it comes to 928 content.

Cool. Thanks Ed. So when did you receive that issue? I've have not gotten mine yet, but have had a mail hold on for the last week while on vacation. Picking it up today. Hopefully that's where it's at.

I've seen it called both Pasha and Pascha here on Rennlist by different guys.

I would say "Considerable trouble and expense" was a recurring theme throughout the development of the 928! Ironic that the checkered flag in motion was chosen for the first Porsche designed primarily for touring and not for racing.
