That car really does check off a lot of the boxes discussed in this thread. And it's here in Temple. I probly shouldn't make this decision after drinking. Definitely not after meth. Blow's probly okay...

This is the age old argument comparing a GT to a sports car, different car for different purposes. Yes by default of volume you are getting "more" car with a 996, because it's physically larger and weighs at least 200lbs more.
I know, right? easy to forget the extra 45+hp, stiffer chassis (at least in coupe form), and timeless rear engine design; but nobody cares about those things

seriously though, I've considered unloading my 996 to get a high mileage Boxster strictly for track use. but......just can't bring myself to sell the 996.
But I think the Boxster IS a great bargain if you find a good one

About 110. It's a Tip, so no overrevs. $7.5k, AOS and belt were done recently, but it needs new CV boots. It's seeping oil (not enough to drip, but it's collecting), so it's going to need the RMS done and I'll consider doing the IMS at that point. The interior also needs some love: it's a southern car, so the passenger seat is fried and the driver's seat isn't far behind. At least one of the POs smoked, so if the smell doesn't come out I'll replace the carpet.

This is Trinity's car, so we have a year before she goes to college and it will be a chance for her to get her hands dirty.

It's night and day from the Shark, Ed. The tasks seems doable; things I can wrap my head around. Everything with the 928 seems like the Manhattan Project. I know I can do the vast majority of the things that the Shark needs, it's just a matter of the scale.

^ That's the spirit. I had a guy say to me at a party he thought they were the girls Porsche. I asked if he'd ever been in one to which he replied "no". I took him for a fang through some twisties that he'll remember for a long time. Mine was a 986 2.5 with factory M030 suspension and 18" wheels with Pilot Sports. To say that thing went around corners extremely well would be an understatement.
Very lucky girl.
