Default Injector Harness Repair Kit

In years past, we offered a injector wiring harness repair service, where a customer was asked to carefully remove his injector wiring harness from his 928 and send it in, and we'd go though it an replace all the engine-side connectors and loom and wire. Time constraints on our end made us discontinue this service last year. I also think the the prospect of removing the injector harness from the car to send it in was pretty unpleasant for most owners.

So now, we have put a kit together of all the connectors you need, plus top-quality soldered and weather-resistant butt joints and tape so the 928 owner can do it himself. And you do not have to take the harness out of the car!

All our connectors are the updated bail-type, so putting them on and off is much simpler than before. No nasty little wire clips. We provide all you need to do every female connection on the engine. If you need male connectors too, we have them also. There are three of those on many 928's, two on the knock sensors and one hall sensor. I recommend you just replace those items - then you get a new sensor, new wiring and a new connector all in one. But, for the guy who wants to just cut the broken connector (they crumble) and put on a new one, I 've got them.

All you need is to supply your own wire, and time. I have a full write-up about it here: https://928motorsports.com/parts/inj...repair_kit.php

Injection Harness Repair Kit

The Problem: Cracked injector and MAF connectors can cause intermittent misses and hard starts. Under examination, you are likely to find that the injector wiring harness has become brittle and the boots and the connectors within that harness are broken, letting moisture in to corrode the contacts.

You can try to buy a new injector wiring harness from Porsche – they are about $1600 if they have one in stock. Or you can call dismantlers to locate a “good” used wiring harness. The problem with that is they are all as old and as brittle as your own. Or you can use this kit and fix the one you have. We provide everything but the wire.

The Solution: You can repair your injector wiring harness yourself with some patience, some wire, and this kit. Simply replace one wire at a time, and splice them in with the special, sealed and soldered, wiring splices included. No need to remove the wiring harness from the car!

NOTE: you may find that the other-side of the connector (the thing that the wiring harness is connected to) is also bad. That is commonly the case with the knock sensors and the hall sensor. We recommend just to replace those sensors if that is the case, then you get new sensors, wiring and connector all at the same time. We have those parts in stock if you need them.

Kit Includes:
  • 11 two-wire connectors
  • 5 three-wire connectors
  • 1 6-wire connector for the MAF
  • 1 Roll of Self-Sealing Silicone Loom tape
  • 30 Waterproof, self-soldering 24ga wire connectors
  • 30 Waterproof, self-soldering 20ga wire connectors

Carl sold the business and retired. It is under new management who really pared down their offerings, so I personally doubt it is still available.
