Daniels ABS pump failed on our way in last night. Trying to find a shop or possibly a location to leave the car if we have to ship it back.

Do the breaks work? This should only affect abs system but still allow brakes to function. My abs System shuts down all the time on my blue 5spd. Doesn't seem to affect performance in any way that I can tell. Just don't get into a situation where you need abs...

No it’s leaking fluid like mad. We are leaving it at Martins house. Here now.

Daniel is going to have shipped back.

Bummer! Have a safe trip back. I know the feeling when your car breaks down away from home :-(

If you elect to get it fixed there, Overstreet Euro in Charlottesville is about 50 miles away.

Looks like an internal leak from inside the unit, unfortunately we did not have time to take it apart. We did contact the local dealer and they wanted $5600 us just for the part, so the it will shipped back and repaired here, likely with a used pump.

Martin really saved us with the temporary storage.

The missing detail in all of this is the vehicle wasn't a 928 but a 996. I think?

Correct, but I did say 2001 996 in the first post. Apparently they area common fail point, not like our units in the 928.

Glad to provide a place to store it, and it's fun to drive, even without brakes! (JK Daniel...)

Possible to fit a couple “jumper” lines to bypass the ABS unit? That could get the car home.
