Default Center console side panel slots






The carpet covered center console side panels from my 1980 had crumbled. I have new boards cut and I’m ready to glue the carpet to the panel. The carpet is from an ‘82, I believe. What is the purpose of the slots cut in the carpet on each side?

To allow the parcel shelf bracket to slip thru it.

I suggest to use Weldwood brush on cement this is the best adhesive for the 928 carpets. found at Home Depot

Thanks! Looks like I need to get some brackets. Mine are missing.
