Yes.

Constantly evolving tiny details, to make things work better, although I never have used/suggested anyone use the paper gasket in the '87 and later application (plastic filler neck.)

Constantly evolving/always improving things is a curse, BTW.

I just always tried to acquire the metal fillers. The plastic ones just seem to leak. I have driebond now though so I’ll try that next time.

Best silicon based sealant I've ever used. Almost magic.

As an aside, when buying Drei-bond, there is only one kind right?
It's sold as a BMW OEM "1290"?
There's a "1385" out there but it looks like an anerobic gel, and does not look silicone based.

1209....
I picked up a tube of Drei Bond 1209...the little box is red and so is the printing on the tube. I also see it with blue writing but I was able to read the tube and it's the same stuff....silicone based, 1209, 250 Celsius stable....

Water Bridge Fun here I come....

If you want to pay an extra $1 for the same stuff for the “Porsche” version. LOL.

OK I am learning -
I usually sell Drei-Bond 2210 = 000 043 204 58 - 70ml tube for $9.50 OEM Reinzosil
I am occasionally asked for Drei-Bond 1209 = 000 043 204 73
What is the difference please?

Most wholesalers cross reference the 58 (2210) & 73 (1209) as being the same apart from one is black and the other clear.

Did some research and ----
2210 - Neutral Silicone - tack free time 5 to 10 mins - cure 6-24 hrs - -40 to +170/200C - elongation at break >250% - sure 60(A) Drei Bond define the color as aluminium.
1209 - Neutral Silicone - tack free time 10 to 15 mins - cure 6-24 hrs - -40 to + 200/250C - elongation break approx. 300% - sure 45 (A) Drei Bond define the color clear (transparent)

It sounds like the two are pretty close? Is it OK to use Drei Bond 1209 or should I really use the Loctite? No big deal to me if I need to pick up a tube and not use the Drei Bond...just want to make sure I'm using the correct stuff for the oil filler neck...?
Thanks.

I call these "elder" moments.

Meant Drei Bond 1209. I'll fix it.
