911 Electric Lumbar Seat for a '95 928 GTS
 

Hi Guys,

I have been knocking around the Threads looking for answer. I think I have found it, but wanted to ask specifically and see if you guys can confirm it for me.

My '95 GTS is in with 928 Motorsports right now getting a rebuild on the engine (1qt of oil every 125 miles...) When she comes back, I will need to refoam and reskin the seats. Currently, the tired seat leaves my lower back in considerable discomfort. I am sure that the new foam would alleviate this considerably, but I would love to upgrade the driver seat with lumbar support.

So, here is the question - can I use a later model 911 or 964 seat frame with lumbar control (the third circular 4 way control on the side of the seat)? Does the 928 Foam and Stitching make it a "928"? It looks like the seats are the same shape and dimension as my '87 911 Targa with a different foam/stitching pattern.

Furthermore, my car does have memory seats - I don't know if that function would be able to retained or not.

Here is what my interior looks like, minus the gorgeous piping (I will definitely have to add that...). I believe this interior is from a GTS which sold on BAT - again, its not my car, just the same colors.

I converted a 928 comfort seat to a sport seat with factory lumbar parts, granted the parts were from a 928 seat with lumbar. However the 911 seats of the same period use the same structure and you should be able to add them to your seat when you have it re-foamed and re-skined.

You can keep you 928 seat bottom and just swap the top over from a 911 seat. Probably easier to do this and it will keep your memory controls active.
