drivers seat adjustment
I was recently told that there was a manual adjustment tool for the seat - I see nothing in the threads on this. Is this true?

I was unaware that there is supposed to be a tool for it.
There is an allen head gear that can be used to manually move the seat forward & back.
It's slow as all hell to do it that way, and the gear is missing a tooth (on purpose) so that it doesn't have to turn when the seat is moved using the motor.
The hole is under the front of the seat. There's access through the plastic cover, so you don't have to remove it.

The movement will allow you to remove the 4 bolts holding the seat rails to the body.

I have no clue what that tool is or does.
I used a standard allen socket. 6mm IIRC, but it's been a while.
It will move the seat very slowly forward or back, so that you can reach the bolts to take the seat out and fix whatever is preventing the motors from moving it (usually the switches).
AFAIK, all seats have the manual movement. I have no clue if later seats have an allen head on the gear or a square head, as that tool looks to be.

the picture of the tool I posted is found in all 1987-1995 tool kits, here is another shot of it in the tool tray.
it is the power seat crank tool specifically used for the purpose of moving the seat manually
