Full service bulletin:

https://www.blauparts.com/audi_timin...tallation.html

I've never seen such a bulletin for the Ferrari unit:

Interestingly, Gates also emphasizes this. They goes so far as to say their tensioners should always be stored in the upright position and have their packaging marked accordingly.

The link to the Blauparts bulletin has been next to the manuals on the PKT-S page for many years (which is likely where Ralph saw it to post about).

Along with this informational bulletin from Gates - Gates_TB_011_hyd_tensioners.pdf - which states that the pin should only be removed in the vertical position with all parts installed (page 3).

To be sure I bought an OE Audi tensioner. Also purchased a INA and already had a NTN in stock.
The Audi was NTN. Both INA and NTN are OEM to Audi.
None of the boxes contained any additional paperwork, printing or instructions.
In future we will include the Bulletin in the box with the tensioner to be ultra safe.

No doubt you are selling the OE tensioner.

The only question (to be super through) is.....does the factory Audi tensioner have any warning about keeping the tensioner upright for 3 hours before pulling the pin?

If it doesn't, it is very unlikely that many mechanics or home users will ever do this and you might as well forget it, right?

URO specialize in making aftermarket copies of original parts that are no longer available. Normally their products are pretty good but one or two are bad.

Mongo - were then any notes about this subject matter included or printed on the box from URO?
