A/C refresh and/or repair budget

Unless someone has info that these are not being made any more, I'm pretty sure I got a brand new Denso compressor here:
https://www.densoproducts.com/product.aspx?zpid=10544
The site is not a Denso-owned site but is an authorized reseller. Really great service and the best price I could find. Caveat: I assume it fits but have not yet installed it.

Just out of curiosity would that Denso compressor from link work also for 86 S2?

maybe a alternate belt tensioner or 'strut', change 2 ac lines, and maybe a compressor manifold
to attach the hoses.

and you could also put on an R134a charge port adapter (temporarily) inject some R134a and sniff as well (and recover the refrigerant when done).
The issue is "pressure". At best, let's say you could inject some R134a on a hot day, without the system running, maybe reach 100 psi static pressure. However if the leak becomes noticeable at
'operating' pressures, say in the 250 range, the leak won't be noticeable at the previous static pressure.
I've owned 3 sharks, 1978, 1984 and a 1989. All converted to R134a, driven in mid 90's humid weather without any performance issues.
And, we have helped many other shark owners do the same.
