well if its almost locked up you have your answer.
I am curious as to the why it wont turn.

You never checked the crank end play?
Maybe take the car to a 928 mechanic and let him look it over

Someone will need to explain end pay to me. I think I will continue with taking apart the oil pump and see if I can flush STP though the motor and get the motor to spin a little more free. If not I will send up the white flag.

Thanks- if you get chance to look inside the bell housing a take a pic, kindly note whether your build has the 25mm shaft or the 28mm shaft. If it is the latter you will see a taper section about 3 inches long where the diameter swages down to the same diameter as the splined section.

By the way we are assuming this is an automatic model but given it is an 87 it could also be a manual tranny- kindly clarify.

Fingers crossed for your good fortunate!

I'm not going to make any decisions about what I'm going to do with the car until after Saturday. I know that the motor is close to locking up so I don't see any reason to check end play or go any farther in getting the oil pump out. The hole motor needs to come out at this point I'm sure. Let's see what people say tomorrow at the meet and greet.

Good morning everyone, thanks so much for the help with my car and my oil pressure problem. Yesterday at my meet and greet I had some very knowable people here and I got some great advice about what to do with my car. So the plane so fare is to pull the engine and see what the hell happen to the car. Yesterday I got to drive some of the other cars and it made me want to get mine fixed. I'm going to need to find good replacement engine, so if anyone can send me any leads that would be most helpful.

Do not write off the engine before you know what has happened even if things do not look too rosy at the moment.

The oiling system failed.

The oil filter came out empty and dry.

So the system failed, made lots of metal in place without oil..and is now seized up at every surface...in it's own shavings and disappointment.

Ain't nothing going to be useful in this engine...maybe cam journals didn't take much abuse..but....

For those asking..intake is clean and baby smooth...nothing unusual about it.
