I just want to bend the sharp edge a little and I don’t think the baseball bat method would turn out good.

Join 928OC and use their tool from the loaner program.

Using that type of tool I found that the rear fender did not gain much at all- the later models [90 S4+?] have the lip rolled up at the factory or so I understand. The front fenders gained a reasonable amount given they seem to flex much more easily but it kind of makes one cringe when you see it being done. I was astonished that the paint did not crack.

I thought if I can buy it for $43 it’s pretty good compared to paying to ship the loaner

. What method or tool do you recommend then?

We used a tool just like the one in the photo but the point is the rear fender just did not seem to want to deform. This was not a problem as I felt there was more than enough clearance for my needs when fitting the wider wheels on my late 90S4. On the GTS no need due to the wider wheel arches - just fitted a 24mm spacer instead of the stock 38mm item and use open nuts. The front fenders rolled easily enough. If you really do need something wider at the rear you need to go the baseball bat route in which case Mr Kibbort is your man. I am not surprised that chap in video who used the BB had an issue but then he did something really dumb by trying to circumcise the arch [crazy].

It takes a little pucker factor but I did mine with a heat gun and several sizes of large wooden dowl rods. Worked up to “baseball bat” size.

Came out fine. Might have been luck

Dumb question but I've always wondered: Is the purpose of rolling just to fold up the inner fender lip (but not change the visible contour of the fender itself)? Or is it to actually deform and widen the fender?

. I think different people have different needs. My need is just to get rid of that sharp edge. It barely touches the tire when the suspension bottoms out.

Hmm, the P.O. of my 82 put a little larger tires than stock, and I am facing a similar issue. Let us know how it turns out.

Tried the tool ^^ on a 928 roller for practice. Also tried a small baseball bat and that worked the best....YMMV. T
