Holy crap Ed, that went beyond pricey and into the retarded territory!! With that price I'm shocked that some high profile Rap Music star isn't wearing a set on a gold chain around his neck!

By the way, the inexpensive pin removal tool set Seth referenced also comes with a round/tubular tool which works great on the barrel connector for the power outside mirrors. It fits perfectly and makes removing those pins a snap!!!

Brilliant write-up, so informative and well presented. My kit cheaper than Hazet

FWIW, I found this thread to check how to depin an injector connector on LR Disco. Despite having the 2 cavities for the tool, implying it had 2 retaining tangs, when I finally got them out there was only one tang present. And it wasnt easy to get the tangs to release!

Usually you need to push the depinning tool (I have the same cheap set, plus a few better quality individual tools) very firmly into the connector for the pin to release. When you get it right it practically falls out the plug. I’ve yet to find a connector on the 928 that the cheap set won’t de-pin, ranging from chunky molecules connectors to Bosch AMP junior timer as used on the temp sensors and injectors.

It also means you can remove plugs, add heat-shield tubing, and then put the plugs back on
