Curry is not often wrong, but he's right again....
Anyone calling in should call the hotel directly (mentioned in the original post)
I know with all the pics of me posing, folks can get a little frazzled, their mind will play tricks on them, and start calling 800 numbers and $##T like that...

Nope, I called the hotel directly. Doesn't mean I was speaking with someone at the hotel (could have been transferred without my knowledge), but I did call the number on the first page.

If you get the ads and all that junk, you got transferred to corporate. I always just hang up and call back later. In a facility like this, the workers almost always wear multiple hats. If they are away from the front desk, the calls get transferred to get answered. That's probably what happened in your case.
