What I do know for sure is:
1. 928 community is tight and small (only crazies like us love those underdogs, I know, I’m from philly)
2. 928 rennlist members are some of the nicest people around (Sean spoke to me on the phone for an hour about a certain car in Texas more than 3years ago, even when he was going through some tough times personally, and I was a complete stranger)
3. You are one of the rennlist 928 member, so let’s start over.
i can also vouch for Roger’s integrity. He and other members in this community are the only reasons I have 928 around (surrounding) my house!

More bull****. If you had just flat out given me your known good LH and it worked so I wanted to keep it, why would my car still not be running 10 years on? And if you had given me your known good LH and it didn’t work, what possible reason would I have to keep it? You make no sense. I’m really surprised that you’ve totally freaked out because I mentioned that you suck at diagnosing fuel pump issues, I didn’t use those words, in fact I was kind and said I didn’t fault you personally, this car has always been a bit of a bitch. But making up **** that makes no sense? Moving on...
No one here depends on Roger to diagnosis anything....he's not a mechanic....he's a parts salesman. If Roger gave you any advice on how to fix your car, he was just trying to be friendly and helpful.
Truthfully, most 928's that won't start take mere minutes to figure out....it is certainly the easiest thing I have to figure out. On the other hand, I've seen plenty of "40 hour" bills from other shops (and dealers) to trace this simple stuff. (I recently got in a vehicle which had an invoice for $7800 dollars to trace a bad LH and replace it!)
Start over with some details of what the symptoms are and what you have checked.

Well, this thread has certainly taken a hard downward spiral since I looked in it this afternoon. I don't know how guilty I should feel after encouraging the OP to join the family, since it is in fact the kindest and most supportive car group around. Before the thread drills itself into the hardpan of Texas, let's all take a deep breath. There's some disparate memory issues about things that happened 10 years ago. We do seem to have agreement that one of our dedicated suppliers grabbed a few possible pieces that could have caused the OP's symptoms at the time, drove to Plano, let the OP test the pieces in the car. Memories differ on what happened after that except the pieces he brought didn't fix the apparent symptoms. Based on the OP's description, my recommendation was exactly the same -- send the box for testing, don't run the fuel pump until the system is verified clean.
Meanwhile, a pissing contest has broken out over what happened ten years ago. My amateur take on this: OP, can you think of ANY parts supplier that will fill the boot with many $hundreds worth of parts, drive them to you, and let you test them in the car to see if they solved your problem? I can, but the list is REALLY short (maybe 2 or 3) and Roger is at or near the top. Show me your list. Cranking on Roger here will buy you no friends, and will quickly ratchet up the list of folks who will take no interest in helping you with your car. You are sitting within spitting distance of one of the premier support networks, and in the course of less than a week, have managed to alienate those excellent local resources as well as most of the rest of the support community we have here on in the online group.
Advice: Contact Roger by phone, and work out whatever your differences may be with him. The multiple threads you have started on your car need to stay static until that's done. I encourage other forum participants to refrain from posting or commenting on any of those threads until this stuff is settled. I can freeze them or lock them or delete them, but will leave them open for you until there's a reasonable peace worked out. Once that's done, we'll all pick up and proceed from there. Another option is to walk away and don't look back. I can recommend to site owner IB that they refund your membership dollars at your request, and you can seek the support you need somewhere else. You can try your luck in another online community, but know that many of us participate in the other groups too and have good memories.
I'm getting too old and stubborn and low on patience to try and play referee in a stupid playground brawl. My instant thought is to kill all the threads and go from there. Don't press your luck.

For those playing along at home --
What an interesting lesson!
I've trimmed and otherwise adjusted the BYAIC threads with concurrence of the Interested Parties, and along the way trimmed the negative posts that were not contributing value to the technical threads. I'm leaving the threads open and searchable, so that others may share technical contributions. I -will- trim again and close the threads if things take a step towards another dive into a tailspin. Keep the discussions positive and all will be golden.
Thank you all for making and keeping the 928 forum here supportive and civilized.
