Need 1978 928 Wiring Help -- Windshield Washer when Key On & No Left markers
Aloha -- trying to get a new to me 1978 928 5-spd sorted. We have a few major issues
1) WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ON the Windshield Washer Pump COMES ON. Pulling Fuse 6 does nothing.
2) If the turn signal switch is turned to right, even with key off, the lights come on and stay on. Never blink either way. Going left key on or key off gets nothing
3) We mysteriously get all left parking/running marker lights one minute, then lose them.
We have already replaced some burnt wires associated with headlight (the white/black tracer B5 and in process of N7) and turn signal (yellow). I cannot find for 1978 wiring color codes, but now see the pump comes from the board at C1. I have pulled what must be the headlight washer pump wires off from under the car (green/red tracer?) but cannot see the other pump to remove the wires. (Where the heck is that washer motor!?!?!)
Anyone have experience with these symptoms? It would be nice if the early 928 Current Flow Diagrams actually had color codes on them! (And were slightly more legible!!!)
Thanks, Sam

Earlier versions of the 9 volume service manuals have very detailed color wiring diagrams. The manual sets come up for sale often in here and on eBay etc. be sure to verify the set has the color diagrams as they were eliminated in later versions of the manual sets. Since you’re reviving an old 928 you will need these manuals for many other tasks as well.

If I were keeping the car, I'd buy the manuals. Unfortunately, I'm just tasked with bringing back to the road and am the temporary caretaker. I can see the color of the wires as they go into the connectors, but it would be nice to have them on paper.
