Test fit club sports wheels with 21mm spacers
I bought H&R 21 mm spacer adapters to test fit the Club Sport wheels. Offset calculators show wheel to stick out 6mm more than current Carrera III wheel and 245/45/16 tire to stick out 8.7mm further than current 265/35/18 tires. The current tires have a clearance of 19mm from tire to rolled fender, so looks like I’ll be ok.
Tire to stick out 8.7mm closer to fender
H&R spacers look to be made well. I checked and I can get at least 10 turns on the H&R spacer studs to attach the Club Sport wheel, so ok there.
Spacer with pressed in studs
21mm spacer p/n 4295716
I’m also thinking to get 245/45/16 tries for all four corners as the fronts are 8” and rears 9” rims and can easily handle them.
Can’t wait til spring!

I've had 25mm spacers under the CS wheels w/o issues for eons - with the std 225/50 on front, full lock is at the point of touching , so worth doing a dimensional check w. 245's on front.

Very interested in your feedback on when you do the 245s up front. I've been seriously considering doing this with my clubsports. Unfortunately we are now just limited to one street tire in the 245 size- Toyo Proxes. There is the Pirelli but it seems like not a very good tire for much more dinero.

7.5" D90 65 offset 225/50/16 vs 8" Clubsport 60 offset and 245/45/16

Garth, the standard GT front wheel is a D90 at 7.5" wide with 65 offset and a 225/50/16 tire. Comparing it to a 8" Clubsport with a 60 offset and 245/45/16 tire it looks like it should not be an issue. as the inside tire wall should be same distance from suspension and therefore clear inner fender well on steering lock. I would not be using any spacers on the front wheels, only on the rears, so seems front should be OK.

The original configuration is just perfect for me:
225/50 16 on 8X16 ET 60 front
245/45 16 on 9X16 ET 60 with 17mm spacers rear
21mm spacers rear should not be a problem.
I don't think that any front spacer is required.

I have
225/50 16 on 8X16 ET 60 front
255/50 16 on 9X16 ET 60 with 17mm spacers rear
And there is very little room between the tire and rolled fender (little finger)

Roger, no haven’t gotten the tires. I was trying to get Conti Sport Contact tires that are sold in right size in Europe, but they don’t import since they aren’t dot approved. Too many other things ongoing. GT is on jack stands in Massachusetts while I’m up in Maine during this COVID mess. Hope to get the GT up to Maine in a couple weeks

Bob, I just saw this thread. Do not be shocked by rubbing, at full lock, of the innermost tread section on the part of the plastic side valance that ‘curls under.’ If you look at the valance from the perspective of the tire you’ll see what I mean. If indeed this occurs there are at least two ways to cure it.

Any rubbing problem with the valance is solvable.
