Default Any interest in Can Can Red Interior, Sunroof Delete.

G'day everybody. In my continuing quest to source parts for the Gold Digger I find myself in possession of an 84 s with 200k miles, service history to match (sans first 40k and last 20k), square BBS RS's ( lots of sidewalk hopping), a dinged passenger rear quarter and a completely rotted out driver side rocker panel. Owned briefly by David Lloyd I think. To me it seems like the perfect donor car for my project, which brings me to the interior.

I have no interest in the interior of this car, which is in surprisingly good shape for the amount of use that the drivers seat at least has endured. It is Can Can Red with black accents. The door cards are intact with solid feeling arm rests. The leather is drying up and pulling back slightly in the usual places but to my untrained eye could be salvageable with treatment. Passenger seat and back seats are in great shape. Drivers seat bolster is stuffed but with professional help could be rescued, I think. Both seats are starting to pull at stitching with a couple of stitches popping here and there. Piping is faded to yellow. Its complete too with the exception of the trunk carpet, which is there but the fibrous backing has been destroyed by some kind of rodent who's nest I found in the spare wheel well. The 2 rear footwell carpets are also missing. Rear console is a little scratched on top surface and has some amp mounting holes inside. The quarter trim panels are also in great shape. One small tear in each and the driver side has the usual break in the fibreboard which could be fixed with a sheet of fibrefix I believe.

This is also a sunroof delete car although the headliner is warped over both hatch hinge access points. Otherwise it's in very nice shape.

In addition the steering wheel on this car looks to be a 930s. All black with black embossed crest on horn pad, although a PO did punch a pinhole in the pad for a metal badge the exact size of the embossed logo.

If there are additional trim parts that people may be interested in please let me know by PM.

Dash, pod and center console will be used by me.

I guess my question is would anybody be interested in this package in part or whole and if so what would a fair price be. I am in Philly so shipping cost might come into play. If there is interest I know that you will all want pictures and I would be happy to add some to this thread but I thought that I would see if there was any interest first and if you would like specific images taken.

Thanks,

Simon

I've been kicking myself since someone had a Can Can Red interior on here in great condition and I passed on it. But from your description of condition, I probably wouldn't go for this one either (pics might help decide that, however).

I am possibly interested in that steering wheel, however...

Definitely not great condition but if someone had a 4 or 5 grand car that needed an interior this one might be it. I'll take some pics when the weather improves.

I had one that Brad in AL (EC928NC) picked up. I'm really curious if that interior found a car - or a car found that interior
Brad?

If it was DL’s Black/Can-Can it should have Konis on it which would, hopefully, be salvageable too.

If it still has the Konis, I’d be interested in knowing what springs are around them...

This is the car, it is black.

Has red shocks all round but did not look closely at them...too cold. How would the springs be marked? I'll check tomorrow and post back for you.

Unfortunately I do not think this car was treated well since DL's tenure. Crumpled right fender, misaligned headlights, lots of corrosion, etc. but it looks complete otherwise. Sad as it was obviously loved and looked after for a long time.

Here are the pics as promised. Not sure if they make the interior look better or worse than it is.

That rust is not worth getting into...is it?

Konis and Eibachs?

Dave, do you know what exhaust system this car might have? Sounds like you knew it once. And if you did is there anything else about it that might be interesting?

Anybody know what this exhaust might be? Large diameter pipe with a rectangular box about 2 feet back from exhaust tips.

That kind of rust is common in wet climates like Britain or the midwest and is fairly easy to repair on a 928.

Just get a new or good used outer skin and have a shop weld it on.
